Stalham Vintage Market 2023
The Stalham Area Business Forum is gearing up for a busy day on Sunday 20th August. This is the sixth Vintage Market to be held in Stalham and it always proves to be a great day. It is one of the highlights for dealers and collectors alike in our region.
The High Street will be closed to traffic for the day whilst Stalham is packed full of vintage and antique dealers. There will be over 60 stalls inside the Town Hall and along the High Street. The stallholders will be bringing a profusion of delights with them, anything from jewellery to jugs, statues to shoes, chairs to china, luggage to lighting, books to boxes, copper to cushions and so much more. There will be something to tempt even the most discerning buyer.
There will be dealers travelling from Suffolk and Lincolnshire to join in with this popular event, as well as Norfolk’s homegrown Antique specialists.
Roy Lanning will be at the Vintage Market with his savoury and sweet delights and there will be a BBQ at the Swan Inn for those of us wanting hot nosh. Cawdrons will have their famous Hog Roast outside the butchers shop too. The Grebe and The Swan will be open for liquid refreshments as well as all our favourite cafes.
Capron and Helliwell will be holding their annual Summer Fete in aid of their chosen charity, Hope for Tomorrow, ‘Driving Cancer care Forward’ in the grounds of their premises. The Fete will feature raffles, tombolas, cakes and other stalls. Please support this great cause. Meanwhile, our resident Antique Dealer, Mike Hicks, will be hosting a special antique stall with all proceeds to the Eat Anglian Children’s Hospice.
Throughout the day there will be live musical entertainment from Carol and Paula, situated outside the old Barclays Bank, just to put us all, ‘In the Mood!’ Keith Pinner with organ Lucy will be positioned at the top of the High Street close to Mike’s Antique stall.
Visitors to the Town will be able to park for free at The High School, The Recreation Ground, Stalham Staithe Surgery and the gravel park beyond the North Norfolk District Council park.. Parking also at Tesco’s, but for 3 hours only.
The Stalham Area Business Forum would like to thank all the people of Stalham in advance, especially those who live along or close to the High Street, for any disruption to their day but they hope the event will be enjoyed by all, both residents and visitors to the town.
Stalham Area Business Forum suggests that anyone who usually parks along the High Street on Saturday evening finds an alternative parking on the evening of Saturday 19th August. A Street Closure Notice has been obtained from Norfolk Highways for the Sunday of the event, so no traffic will be allowed along the Street (except for emergency vehicles) from 8am to 6pm.
If anyone has to journey to or from their home or has any queries about the Street closure please contact SABF on stalhamcob@gmail.com or ring 07760115153. Police will be in attendance during the day.
So….Dust down those sneakers, slick back the DAs, drag on the drainpipes and plump up those petticoats. Come and join in the fun. Our Vintage Market is for one day only so make sure you don’t miss it!
